2.10 Mobile App and device permissions
The App asks for device permissions only when you use the feature that needs them, and you can refuse or withdraw a permission in your device settings at any time:
- Camera — to photograph or scan deal documents, identity documents and your profile photo. Only the images you choose to submit are uploaded.
- Photos and files — through the system picker, to attach the images or documents you select. The App does not read the rest of your photo library or files.
- Microphone — for hold-to-talk in Ask. Speech is turned into text by your device’s speech recognition service; the App does not send the audio recording to our servers. The resulting text is sent like any other message you type.
- Contacts — the App uses the system contact picker, so it has no access to your address book. Only the name and phone number of the contact you pick are filled into the form, and they are sent to us only if you submit it.
- Notifications — to send you updates about your deals, clients, payouts and new projects. We store a push-notification token for your device for this purpose.
- Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint — to unlock the App. Biometric checks are performed by your device; we never receive your biometric data.
- Calendar — when you choose “Add to calendar”, the App opens your device’s calendar with the event filled in. The App does not read your calendar.
The App does not collect your precise location.

7.8 No sale of personal data
We do not sell personal information as a standalone commercial product.

The App does not show advertising. To measure our own advertising, when you sign up or buy a subscription on the website we may send event details, such as your email address, phone number, name, IP address, browser details and advertising click identifiers, to Google Analytics, Meta and Reddit. Retention periods vary by information type and legal obligation.
When information is no longer required, we may securely delete, anonymise or aggregate it.
Account deletion does not require immediate deletion of information we must retain for legal, compliance, accounting, transaction or dispute purposes.
9.1 Examples of retention periods
- Identity-document images (Emirates ID or residence visa) are deleted 90 days after our review decision, or when your account is deleted if that is sooner.
- Ask conversations are kept until you delete them or your account is deleted.
- Enquiries that do not lead to further contact are deleted after 12 months.
- Push-notification tokens are deleted when you sign out of the App or your account is deleted.
- Deal, commission, payout, contract and billing records are kept for as long as needed for accounting, tax, regulatory and dispute purposes.
9.2 Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account and associated data:
- in the App, under Profile → Personal information → Delete account;
- on the web, without installing the App, at insidersofdubai.com/delete-account; or
- by email to privacy@insidersofdubai.com.
Deletion takes effect 30 days after your request, and you can cancel it during that time by signing in again. We then delete your profile, photos, Ask conversations, registered clients, identity documents, bank details, notifications and device tokens, and we anonymise your account record. We keep deal, commission, payout, contract and billing records that we must retain for legal, accounting or dispute purposes. If you have an active subscription, open deals or a payout in progress, we will complete or close these before deletion. A subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store must be cancelled in that store.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including measures such as:
